the good stuff.
after spending the first part of my weekend in atlantic city discovering that i really, really do not like casinos, the sunshine finally kicked in on sunday for me to get some pictures of the yarn haul from rhinebeck. good times.
above you see, from left, socks that rock mediumweight (in obsidian) to become socks for the boy; jamie harmon merino/angora in lovely beachy seaglass colors for a sweater por moi; rainbow-y jamie harmon merino/angora in the color of pure happiness; a skein of vancalcar farms sock yarn (wool/nylon) in a deep garnet color; and two skeins of spinner's hill licorice twist yarn for another hourglass sweater.
other than the STR, all of it is yarn that can't be easily purchased other than at a sheep & wool festival, so i'm pretty pleased with my booty. the only hard part is resisting the urge to cast on the sea glass sweater immediately -- unfortunately, my US10 needles are currently tied up and with the atlantic city fieldtrip (yech) combined with family in town, i didn't make it to the yarn store last weekend.
probably a good thing -- if my experience with the swatch is any indication, once i've cast on with the angora-y goodness, i'll have a hard time putting it down. for anything. eating, sleeping, bathing, working included.

Nice choice on the rainbow yarn! What pattern are you using for the beach glass angora?
